Explore one of the most beautiful lakes in the Beitostølen area. Surrounded by landmarks as the Mugnatind, Slettefjell and our signature peak Bitihorn.
Benefit from the knowledge of a local guide, for a safe and comfortable "close to nature"- experience.
Good for body & soul: Paddling is a moderate type of excercise that allows you to focus on the moment, on your own movements and the beautiful surroundings.
There are many nice restaurants to visit. But nothing compares to an outdoors dinner in the great Nature.
We´ll start the evening at our premises in Beito where you´ll meet your guide. He/she will provide you with all necessary equipment for the evening before we take a walk down to the lakeshore.
Together we´ll make the canoes ready and pack everything we´ll need for the evening, before we start the tour. The guide will provide all necesary instruction for a safe and enjoyable tour.
During the course of the evening, we´ll disembark on a small island or a sheltered bay to cook together a wilderness meal on the outdoors, relax and just enjoy the evening sun.
Maybe you would like to pick some wild berries for dessert?
Do you enjoy fishing? Depending on the date of the tour, it´s possible to fish for Mountain Trout from the canoe or the kayak. You just need to purchase a fishing license. Let us know if you´re interested and we will help you.
Change your canoe for a kayak? From Summer 2020 we also have double "sit-on-top" kayaks available. The padling is a bit different from a canoe but equally safe and enjoyable. Let us know if you prefer a kayak instead and, as long as we have kayaks available that evening, you might as well paddle a kayak.
We also offer a shorter introduction canoe tour during the day that includes a paddling instruction. This is also perfect for a shorter family tour with small children. Check it out here.
What to bring
Feel free to bring any extra snacks and refreshments
Sun factor and sunglasses.
Swimming clothes and towel if you want to swim in the fresh mountain water (specially tempting on warm summer evenings)
Who can join
Previous paddling experience is not needed, only an average normal condition. Paddling is a superb exercise for the upper body. The activity level is adjustable to your skills.
It´s Ok to bring older children on this tour. For smaller children, we recommend the shorter introduction canoe tour (in the morning)
