Highlights
Join us for an exciting hands-on guided experience that will be one of the highlights of your Summer or Autumn holidays in Norway.
Get very close to the pointed ears, happy eyes, smily faces and wagging tails of our Alaska Huskies.
Learn to prepare the huskies for the ride and how to steer the four wheeled wagons. A professional guide will answer any questions you may have about dog sledding and huskies.
Discover the mountain area between the Langsua and the Jotunheimen National Parks.
In autumn, the bright colors of the norwegian foliage makes this nature experience even more vivid.
Tour Description
This is a guided tour, led by professional dog sledding instructors. We meet at Beito Husky Tours for a brief instruction from your guide. Then we go for a little drive, to reach the training grounds at Skreddalen.
The guide will then demonstrate how to handle the dogs, prepare them for the ride putting harnesses on them, and you´ll get an intensive instruction on how to steer the four wheeled wagons and proceed on the tour.
Once everything is ready, we´ll set off for a tour in beautiful norwegian landscape. The guide will lead the first team at all times, and the rest will follow through the 7-8 kms long trail on gravel roads in beautiful terrain. There will be plenty of breaks along the way, to take inn the view while we let the dogs rest and make sure they´re enjoying the tour while keeping hydrated.
The carts are equipped with a seat on the front. Normally two persons will share a four wheeled cart, and change positions along the way. Children can sit in the front while a parent or the guide, steer the waggon. Smaller children can sit in the front together with an adult.

Summer dog sledding is perfect for chilly Summer days and for the Autumn, when the weather is not so warm. It´s also the perfect activity for a rainy day!
For warm summer days we recommend you a fresh water activity, a hike with our dogs or Puppy training
Stay overnight at our premises, in our Glamping area to get most out of your visit ut us! We have two very nice wildernss cabin, access to a viking sauna by the lake and rental of water equipment (Kayaks, Canoes, SUP boards)

Feel free to bring any extra snacks and refreshments. Please, restrain from bringing any food/ treats for the dogs.
Clothes to match the weather and comfortable shoes.
Who can join
VERY IMPORTANT
Previous experience not needed for joining this tour.
To be able to learn to steer the cart, all you need is an average good physical condition and a good sense of balance.
This is an instructive guided experience that requires a disposition to learn. Its very important you have a learning mind-set and follow the guide´s instructions at all times.
Children are welcome to join this tour, accompanied by an adult. Children under 14 years old will be normally sitting on the waggon.
Pregnant women cannot participate on any dog sledding tour arranged by Beito Husky Tours.
Disability is not a barrier! You can still join this tour if you can´t or don´t wish to steer the cart. You can sit with the guide. Contact us upfront if you have any disability so we can adapt the tour for you.
